Selecting the correct roller is the first step toward achieving professional results with a flawless finish. To seal and protect microcement, it is recommended to use a 4 mm microfiber or polyester roller. This ensures a smooth surface without excessive material application. Choosing a roller with the specified thickness helps optimize the amount of sealer used and creates a finish that makes future cleaning much easier.
To ensure the sealing process is technically correct, it is essential to respect the drying time of the final microcement layer. By doing so, the applicator ensures that there is no residual “negative moisture” trapped within the base layer.
Before applying polyurethane sealer, the substrate must be completely free of moisture. To achieve this, follow the drying times recommended in the technical data sheets. In the case of Zenciment Cover (the acrylic resin used before applying Zenciment Sealant 2K), it must be allowed to dry for up to 24 hours.
A 12-hour drying interval is required between coats; however, always take into account environmental conditions, temperature, and humidity. Do not apply the second coat too early, as this prevents the first layer from “breathing,” which would cause the microcement to take longer to achieve its necessary technical properties.
